Western Kentucky University is a Leading American University with International Reach

We encourage studying abroad and teach our students that we are a significant part of a global community. I embrace diversity in its true sense – thought, culture, and expression.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND
I was born in Iran. I have dual citizenship with Canada. My parents met and married in Tehran. My mother, the daughter of a U.S. Diplomat in the Foreign Service and my father (Canadian) in the oil industry. I have lived in many countries, but identify mostly with a small yet significant town in Belgium. At "my Waterloo," I received an excellent education combining a perfect balance of faith and "industry." I will forever treasure the memories I have from St. John's International and enjoy friendships that endure today. I attended the University of North Texas for my BFA and some graduate work before starting a business immediately after leaving school. I have owned and operated design and marketing consulting businesses in Texas and in Kentucky.

I have lived in the following countries:
Iran, Tehran
United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah
Saudi Arabia, Abqaiq
Singapore
Scotland, Bearsden (near Glasgow)
Belgium, Waterloo
United States of America, Texas and now Kentucky

I have traveled extensively and share stories and examples of cultural diversity at every opportunity with my students. Countries I have visited (the list of cities is too long):
Canada
Iran
Saudi Arabia
Bahrain
Qatar
Egypt
Singapore
Malaysia
Japan
Thailand
Nepal
India
Scotland
England
Wales
Belgium
Netherlands
France
